In this video, we explore the GateAccess.net mobile app.

WHAT IS ABDi?
ABDi is the gate access control system we will be upgrading too. It offers a better user interface utilizing modern technology for members, staff and guests. Homeowners will be able to access and update information using an app or an online website, which will send this information straight to the gate. Guests and Visitors will be able to use a QR code for access (sent via phone or a printed copy from the office), streamlining entry into the community and giving more flexibility for owners to access visitor information for their homes. Each card holder will receive a new gate card for the new system. This gate card will be an all-in-one photo ID for each member, combining both wristbands and membership cards that are required by our governing documents. Photos will be required for the new cards for all Members, family who reside at the address over 14, and associate members.

ABDi MEMBERSHIP UPDATES

January 11, 2025

At the December Board meeting, it was discussed that ABDi was still in the process of creating a timeline for the remaining outstanding items. These items are part of the core functionality, which without, the software would not be able to be utilized for our needs. After the ABDi development team failed to deliver the promised finalized software by the October 2024 deadline, the project was escalated to the head of the company. By the middle of November, a detailed scope of work was created breaking down the remaining items into a series of project phases. The first updated software build was due to be delivered on December 16th, 2024. ABDi was unable to provide all updates at that time. In response, additional developers were included in the 4th phase.  On January 3rd, at the conclusion of the first 4 phase, ABDi delivered the updated software build for testing. The team spent Monday, January 6th, testing and reviewing the update on both mobile and desktop platforms. On Tuesday, January 7th, a meeting was held with the ABDi development team to discuss the completed items in these project phases and confirm the update performed as required. ABDI developers have entered the final two remaining phases which are expected to be completed by the end of the month. The next updated software build is due Friday, January 17th.  At this point the ABDi team has provided all promised software updates and fixes. A team of new and additional designers have been added to the project, providing more resources, with company leadership included in all discussions, updates and development. We are optimistic about continuing to move forward with implementation. Thank you for your continued patience. This has been a long ongoing process, and we understand the frustration the delays have caused. We will continue to provide updates on the process as we get to the finish line. All updates given today will also be available on the website for Member’s anytime.

October 5, 2024

Since the delay in the implementation of ABDi, our team has been working closely with developers to finalize the program. Over the last few months, we have been able to successfully audit all the data transferred, start the process of adding required fields to the online portal for registering guests, complete the set up of the Officer Pulse module, and continue to get membership photo IDs issued.  We are in the process of meeting bi-weekly, to ensure continued progress at the developers’ end. There is still work to be done, including some point-of-sale fixes, software updates, and company-wide training.  We are hopeful that the continued progress will bring us live and fully operational by the end of the year.

During this time, we ask Members, Associates and residents, if you have not done so already, to visit the Welcome Center and get photo ids printed. Members should keep up-to-date records with the office, to ensure all changes are accurate when we switch systems. If you need to update your vehicle or mailing information, visit our website to submit any changes. Always keep an eye out for Information sent out about ABDi and the final steps for switching over.

We know many Members still have some questions on ABDI, what’s changing, what’s not changing and how the new system will work. We are also adding more information on ABDi online. To keep up with the news, try out the Member Portal demo, or to watch training presentations, please visit the ALCA website.

We would like to thank the Members, for your continued patience in this project. This is a large company and community-wide change, and we are here to continue to offer training, updates and support.

June 21, 2024

We have been working to bring ABDI’s access control and community management systems to Arrowhead. We’re sure many of you have seen our presentations and we know many others have also gotten their new ID cards in preparation for launch.

As you know, there has been a delay in the launch and we are working with ABDI to identify a new timeline for implementation sometime after Labor Day.

Until further notice:

  • Members will continue using their current gate cards and 2023 PINK wristbands – For Amenities, both 2023 wristbands and a photo ID will be accepted to enter. (PINK only from 2023)
  • Please keep your new ABDI cards in a safe place until we launch the new system.
  • Lost cards are subject to a replacement fee.
  • For anyone who has not picked up your new photo ID, please stop by the Welcome Center. Photos can now be taken at the Member Window any day of the week.
  • We are not expecting to implement ABDI during the busy summer period

As stated above, we are still moving forward with ABDI. While the delay is unfortunate, this provides us with an opportunity to have a larger percentage of our membership outfitted with their new cards prior to going live. Please keep an eye out for Information sent out via emails, Facebook and the postal service. If you need to update your vehicle or mailing information, please visit MyALCA on our website to submit any changes.

For more information on ABDi, try out the Member Portal demo, or to watch training presentations at www.arrowheadlakepa.net/abdi

May 15, 2024

We want to let you know that we are still working with ABDi to get an updated implementation date. As soon as we get that information, we will let you know. In the meantime, please continue to use your current gate cards after 5/20. Also, your 2023 wristbands will remain valid until we are officially live with ABDi.

We sincerely apologize for this inconvenience.

May 4, 2024

As many of you know, Arrowhead Lake Community Association has been working with Applications By Design, Inc. (better known as ABDI) in bringing their access control and community management systems to our community. We’re sure many of you have seen our presentations and we know many others have also gotten their new ID cards in preparation for launch. We have been incredibly excited to get this project off the ground and taking the last few steps in bringing Arrowhead Lake, and our incredible members, into what we believe is the future of community management.

Unfortunately, on May 2nd, ABDI reached out to us and informed us that the system will not be ready in time for our target date. Staff have been working tirelessly to ensure that we had all our requirements met to hit the ground running on launch day. We are in constant communication with ABDI in determining a new launch date and as soon as confirmed, we will communicate that to the community.

Due to this change, members will need to continue using their current gate cards and wristbands until a new date is announced. For anyone who has already received their new ID cards please continue to save those in a safe space to ensure you do not lose them. The ABDI system is still coming, and you will need those cards after we set our new launch date.

Now, while this news is certainly disappointing, it does not come without a silver lining. As previously stated, we are still moving forward with ABDI’s access control and community management system, and now this provides us with an opportunity to have a larger percentage of our membership outfitted with their new ABDI ID cards prior to launch. For all of those who were concerned about making a day to travel and getting this done prior to the 20th, you will now have additional time to ensure that you, or your family members, are added to the system and have their ID cards made in advance. As they say, all challenges provide opportunities! And, while this is a challenge we hoped we would not have to face, we will make the best opportunity out of it and continue to move forward!

We sincerely apologize if this has caused an inconvenience for anyone, but believe us when we say, no one is more disappointed in this inconvenience than we are.

VISITOR INFORMATION

Visitor registration will be more streamlined and manageable by owners with ABDi. The Member portal, accessed via online or on the app, will give owners the ability to register visitors and send them a QR code by text or email. This QR code is valid for the gates and amenities for the length of their stay.

We encourage the use of the new system and the ease for owners and visitors.

Vehicle information and contact information will be required to register a guest for a QR code.

QR codes used for guests will be all-in-one pass for the gates and amenities. Children under 14, will be covered under a carrying pass holder. Properties can still bring up to 6 people, including the members. Day passes (QR CODES) will be required for additional guests. Additional day passes for Members do have a fee; this is set annually by the board.

QR codes will be unique to each visitor and cannot be copied or transferred.

Deliveries will not require a QR code, they can head straight to the gate once registered by the Owner or authorized Member.
